After attending one of the Queen of Pop’s concerts in Paris, inspiration struck LV’s creative director Marc Jacobs for the label’s next fashion advertising campaign.

“I just blurted out, ‘I think we should do Madonna,’” Jacobs told WWD. “I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy.”

And the rumor about Madonna raking in $10 million for the campaign? “It’s very far away from that,” he assured.

According to E! News, the 50-year-old singer stared into the New York Yankee baseball star’s eyes as she sang the Evita hit “You Must Love Me.” At one point, A-Rod handed her a bottle of water as she performed.

A fan said: “It was easy for him to hand it off because he was sitting in the front row. He was all excited watching her perform.”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after almost eight years of marriage.

“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after 7 1/2 years of marriage,” her rep Liz Rosenberg said in a statement to The Associated Press. “They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time. A final settlement has not been agreed upon yet.”

According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the couple decided to go public with the split now because they “can’t bear to live with the pretense any longer… A series of rows around Guy’s 40th birthday last month were so bad that Madge ended up storming out of the house and Guy’s had enough.”

Madonna was left disappointed after her closest friends - including Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow - failed to attend the party. In a 40-minute speech, she thanked Guy, Lourdes, eight-year-old son Rocco, and adopted son David, two, before adding: "I'm really disappointed. There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it."

Guy - who refused to dance with his wife - also poked fun at the absence of Madonna's friends in his speech, noting that many of the guests worked for her. Around 40 partygoers were her dancers, who joined the star and her children to gyrate to her back catalogue on the dance-floor, which had a huge M in the middle.

A friend said: "She loved it when her songs came on. Her dancers were pulling out all the moves, it was like the final rehearsal for her tour."

Where did she approach you? Where was the first time you met? How did it happen? At her house I think it was in the Hollywood Hills. Our people set it up. Her people approached me saying she was interested in meeting me. She had a Cuban child and wanted another one. She wanted to get married and have a child with me.

That was her intention to have a child with you? Yeah, I’m Cuban and she wanted a Cuban child.
